This Parmelian print of Adams' first iconic image comes directly from the descendants of Albert Bender—Adams' first and greatest patron. Bender, who also supported Diego Rivera and other Bay Area photographers, funded the Parmelian portfolio and other early projects. This vintage matte silver gelatin print on William Dassonville's Charcoal Black paper retains its original envelope. The sheet is signed "Adams" and numbered "245" in pencil recto. The envelope is hand-titled in pencil, with letterpress "Ansel Easton Adams" and "Parmelian Print" verso.
